What is Laer Lipo / Smartlipo™?
Smartlipo™ is a laser liposuction system which disrupts fat cells in the body and coagulates skin tissue, which leads to skin tightening. During the Smartlipo™ procedure, a small 1-mm cannula fitted with a laser is inserted in the treatment area. The fat cells treated with Smartlipo™ rupture and are suctioned away, leaving a more slender body contour behind. SmartLipo MPX is the latest of Smartlipo Laser Lipolysis Machines. With SmartLipo MPX surgeons having the choice of using a higher power laser to adequately treat the resistant fat areas.
Please note: There are many manufacturers of laser lipolysis equipment. SmartLipo is the industry leader in terms of safety and efficacy. SmartLipo MPX is their latest technology and very few places actually offer this technology due to its high cost. Ask for SmartLipo MPX by name.
Is Laser Lipo / Smartlipo MPX™ safe?
One of the greatest benefits of Smartlipo™ is that only local anesthetic is necessary. Smartlipo™ is FDA approved and less invasive than traditional liposuction. With Smartlipo™, you can expect a faster recovery with less swelling than in a traditional liposuction procedure.
What are the known side effects?
Smartlipo™ patients sometimes experience minimal soreness and bruising as compared to traditional liposuction. Smartlipo™ patients experience fewer side effects than liposuction patients inlcuding a shorter recovery period, no risk of general anaesthetic, reduced risk of infections, DVT, and other surgery related complications. No serious side effects are associated with Smartlipo™. You surgeon will cover side effects which are specific to you based on your medical history and area(s) to be treated.
What benefits does Laser Lipo / Smartlipo™ have over traditional liposuction?
The whole Smartlipo™ procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, unlike traditional liposuction, which typically requires general anesthesia. Traditional liposuction sometimes leaves loose skin in areas where fat is removed. This problem is eliminated with Smartlipo™, which stimulates collagen retraction. During the recovery period, skin will tighten over the treated area. Smartlipo™ patients experience minimal scarring and a shorter, more comfortable recovery period. No stitches are needed because the incision site is smaller than in traditional liposuction.
How much fat can be removed?
Up to 8 pounds of fat can be removed with Smartlipo™. Treatment should not be used for weight loss, but rather to sculpt the body into a more pleasing shape.
Are the results permanent?
Yes. Fat cells do not come back once they are removed. Any new weight that is gained will be distributed over the entire body.

How much does Laser Lipo / Smartlipo™ therapy cost?
The cost of treatment with Smartlipo™ depends upon a number of factors. The information necessary to determine the treatment price of Smartlipo™ therapy will be gathered at your personal consultation. Starting from £2000 (typical price for chin / double chin) the total treatment is less costly than traditional liposuction.
Please note all our procedures are carried out by exceptionally qualified cosmetic surgeons and in locations that are second to none in quality, safety & luxury.
